May Field trip

Is to Selby Gardens in Sarasota on May 12th. This is a great location filled with wonderful flowers and a beautiful landscaped estate. we will meet at the gate at 9:45. You may bring tripods for the grounds but not for the Tropical Display House. admission is $12.00 unless you are a member of a Botanical Garden such as Sunken Gardens, then you can get in for free.


We need your Field trip images to update our site Please send up to 5 images sized the same as for our meeting ASAP


Frame day for the next exhibit

Wednesday May 30th all day. long Bring your images for the next exhibit at the Don Vista Cultural Arts Bldg. Please make sure you have submitted your images for macro and closeup photos ASAP to be included in the show


Photo Slam

Tuesday May 15th at The Studio@620 8 p.m.

Beth Reynolds is looking for a diverse group of images for poets to be inspired by. Judges will select 15 images for poets to compose to. All the details can be found HERE

See natural Florida from the eye of an artist and a naturalist. Each beautiful image is labeled with interesting facts about the species, habitat and ecology of the subject. See native flora & fauna come to like in photography and art.

On The Road: Photographs Across America
March 3 through July 8, 2007

Ever since beat writer Jack Kerouac’s book, On the Road, captured America’s imagination in the 1950s, countless youths have taken to the highways and back roads in search of their country and themselves. On the Road: Photographs Across America offers a vicarious road trip for the viewer, a journey told though images. Culled from the MFA photography collection, the exhibition features the work of 20 gifted artists including Brett Weston, William Christenberry, David Vestal, Robert Rauschenberg, Rodger Kingston, and Emmet Gowin

Carlton Ward Jr. has Two additional exhibits this month

The first exhibit is at Eckerd College in Saint Pete in the Miller Gallery. Hours are Mon- Fri 10-4

The Second exhibit is at the Hofman Porges Gallery in Ibor City

Digital Images for the group should be jpeg files  1024x768 at 100ppi  files names should be initials, month,year, title example (js0207treeballet.jpg). You may also bring prints that are matted image area should be at least 8x10
